Roman oil lamp of bronze

This pear shape oil lamp dates back to the 2. century AD. The arched handle terminates in a beautiful horse head. The facial features are well defined and the body of the lamp is set on a low foot ring. Bronze oil lamps with horse heads are quite rare. This lamp has a beautiful patina.
